Abstract:
Objective To explore the status of resource utilization and oral health of elderly with diabetes mellitus, and to analyze the correlation between the two.Methods Totals of 659 elderly with diabetes mellitus were surveyed by the chronic illness resources survey (CIRS) and the geriatric oral health assessment index (GOHAI).Results Total scores of resource utilization of the elderly with diabetes mellitus were (71.69±15.86) points, and quality evaluation scores of oral health were (47.12±9.05). Dimensions in resource utilization were positively correlated with dimensions in oral health (P<0.05).Conclusions For the elderly patients with diabetes mellitus, the higher the resource utilization is, the better oral health is.
