Abstract: Objective By conducting clinical analysis to 12 elderly patients with foreign body airway obstruction(FBAO), to introduce methods of nursing care, diagnosis, treatment and prevention, so as to reduce misdiagnosis and missed diagnosis, and to reduce consequences of FBAO.Methods A retrospective summary was carried out on diagnosis, treatment and nursing care of 12 elderly patients with FBAO.Results All 12 foreign bodies were removed successfully. All of the elderly patients were well cared, with no incidence of severe complications.Conclusions Prevention of elderly FBAO should be paid attention to. Tracheoscopy is irreplaceable in diagnosis and treatment of FBAO, and corresponding nursing is very important.
