Abstract:
Objective To explore the job engagement and influencing factors of nurses in Pharmacy Intravenous Admixture Service (PIVAS).Methods Totally 155 nurses working in PIVAS of three tertiary hospitals in Nanjing between June and December 2015 were selected by convenience sampling, whose job engagement and influencing factors were analyzed with Job Engagement Questionnaire. Results In this study, totally 155 questionnaires were distributed and 151 valid questionnaires were collected, with an effective recovery rate of 97.4%. 151 nurses were scored (138.52±13.62) on average for their job engagement. The factors affecting the job engagement of these nurses working in PIVAS included sex, nature of employment and time of engagement in PIVAS (P<0.05).Conclusions Male nurses, contract nurses and the nurses who have less experience in PIVAS should be trained as key objects in order to reduce adverse events and improve nursing quality.
