Abstract:
Objective To explore the effects of cancer pain management team working mode in the moderate and severe cancer pain nursing. Methods Cancer pain management team was established and team working mode was used in the nursing intervention of the patients with moderate and severe cancer pain. A total of 79 cases of intermediated or advanced-staged cancer patients in Qingdao Center Hospital were selected as control group from January to June in 2015 before the establishment of cancer pain management team. Another 79 patients in the same hospital from July to December 2015 after the establishment of cancer pain management team were selected as the observation group. Patients in the control group were given routine nursing quality control, while patients in the observation group were given pain nursing quality control using cancer pain management team. The incidence of breakthrough cancer pain, writing errors of nursing records related to pain nursing documents by nursing staff, the severity of pain and pain control satisfaction were compared between the two groups. Results The incidence of breakthrough cancer pain of various causes in the observation group were lower than that in the control group. The difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The writing errors of nursing records related to pain nursing documents in the observation group pain [(15.50±2.51) times per week]were lower than that in the control group [(35.00±3.53) times per week], with a statistically significant difference between the two groups (t=40.015,P<0.01). The pain degree at present, the most intense pain degree over the past 24 h and the average pain level of past 24 h in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). Patients' satisfaction with the results of the treatment of pain and with the treatment method of the nurses in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group (P<0.05).Conclusions The pain nursing under the supervision in the form of cancer pain management team can reduce the incidence of breakthrough cancer pain in patients with moderate and severe cancer pain, reduce the writing errors of nursing records related to pain nursing documents, improve the pain of patients and increase the satisfaction of pain control effect.
