Abstract:
Objective To explore the effect of social support and resilience on depression of renal transplant patients and its relationship effect. Methods A total of 104 patients who underwent renal transplant successfully for the first time in Nanjing Drum Tower Hospital during January 2015 to April 2016 were recruited into the study. They were evaluated by self-rating depression scale, social supporting rating scale and resilience scale for patients. Analysis of Moment Structures (AMOS) version 7.0 software was used to conduct the path analysis. Results The scores of patients' depression, social support and resilience were (50.15±11.23), (43.87±7.21) and (71.32±18.72), and there was correlationship among them (r=0.443-0.562,P<0.05). Social support revealed direct negative effect on depression and affected depression indirectly via resilience. The total coefficients was -1.24. Resilience was a direct negative factor of depression and it was also intermediary variable between social support and depression. The total coefficients was -0.71.Conclusions The level of social support and resilience are fine for renal transplant patients, however, they have depression. Depression is directly or indirectly affected by social support and resilience. Nurses can make intervening measures in different links to improve patients' depression status.
