Abstract:
ObjectiveThe clinical effects of shen que acupoint cupping in the treatment of postoperative gastrointestinal dysfunction in patients with thoracolumbar tuberculosis, and provide scientific references for the promotion of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) nursing in clinical practice. Methods Totally 60 patients with thoracolumbar tuberculosis undergoing anterior debridement, posterior internal fixation and self-bone graft were divided into the observation group and the control group,30 cases respectively. Patients in the control group received the routine treatment, while patients in the observation group received additional shen que acupoint cupping at 6 hours post operation. After the operation, the intestinal peristalsis recovery time, the first exhaust time, the first defecation time and number of indwelling feeding tubes were compared between two groups. Results The time for the recovery of intestinal peristalsis, exhaust and defecation in the observation group were (30.93±8.37) h, (80.10±6.44) h and (24.33±5.51) h,which were significantly shorter than the time in the control group (t=15.396, 9.688,8.079;P<0.05). There were four persons with indwelling gastric tubes in the control group, while there was no indwelling gastric tube in the observation group. Conclusions Shen que acupoint cupping can effectively improve the recovery of gastrointestinal dysfunction in postoperative patients with thoracolumbar tuberculosis and is worthy for promotion in clinical practice.
