Abstract:
Objective To explore a homogenized teaching model for ICU nursing students, and to discuss its effects when applied in clinical nursing teaching. Methods To establish a homogenized teaching model for ICU nursing students, totally 56 college nursing students studying in the ICU of a tertiary hospital between May 2015 and April 2016 were investigated as a treatment group who received homogenized teaching; and some nursing students practicing in the same ICU from May 2014 to April 2015 received traditional teaching as a control group. Their regular performance, theoretical examination and operation test scores were then compared, and clinical teachers and nurses′ comments on the homogenized teaching model were investigated, too. Results The scores of nursing students in the treatment group for regular performance, professional theory, professional operation and nursing rounds were (19.20±4.02), (28.6±3.34), (28.4±4.45) and (18.70±4.00), respectively, all higher than the figures of nursing students in the control group (P<0.05), which were (15.9±2.97), (24.8±3.88), (24.2±3.49) and (15.2±3.22), respectively; and nursing students in the treatment group had higher evaluation on teaching effects, including teaching objectives, contents, methods, positivity and comprehensive capacity building, than nursing students in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusions The homogenized teaching model, when applied in teaching college nursing students, helps them understand ICU expertise, improves clinical teaching effects, avoids randomized traditional teaching, and enhances homogenized management of clinical teaching for ICU nursing students.
