Abstract:
Objective To explore the real experience of parents of children with acute leukemia in children undergoing first chemotherapy so as to provide the theoretical and practical evidence for development of individualized nursing measures.Methods A total of 16 parents with acute leukemia in children undergoing first chemotherapy were investigated using half-structured interviews via phenomenological research methods. The NVivo10.0 software was used to manage, discover and seek data. The data were analyzed using Colaizzi phenomenological method.Results Three themes including complex negative emotions, excessive economic burden and multiply needs were extracted.Conclusions Parents with acute leukemia in children undergoing first chemotherapy need more attentions. Nurses should take individualized measures to really meet their needs and reduce psychological load so as to be better with follow-up treatment of children.
