The control group received conventional health education while the experimental group received the education with increasing inspiring contents. To compare patients' awareness of the risk factors for stroke and the compliance of medication and rehabilitation between the two groups. Results Patients in the experimental group had a significantly higher awareness of risk factors and compliance compared with patients in the control group [(8.95±0.30) vs (5.05±0.40) for the awareness of risk factors; (9.35±0.35) vs (6.45±0.40) for medication compliance; (9.05±0.30) vs (5.70±0.45) for rehabilitation compliance](t=79.20,58.89,68.03;P<0.01). Conclusions Health education with increasing inspiring contents can effectively improve the awareness of disease and compliance of medication and rehabilitation in stroke patients.
