Abstract:
Objective To explore the application of peer-assisted learning and mind map training model in the pre-job operation training of new nurses and evaluate its effect. Methods Totally 56 new recruited nurses of 2015 in a hospital were selected as the experimental group by cluster sampling from July 2014 to July 2015. While 49 new recuited nurses of 2014 were selected as the control group. Traditional training methods was used in the control group and the peer-assisted learning and mind map training methods were used in the experimental group. The operation score in two groups were compared, and the critical thinking ability of nurses in two groups were evaluated by the critical disposition dability inventory of nursing education. Nurses in the experimental group evaluated the peer-assisted learning and mind map training methods. Results After training, the operation score of nurses in the control group was (89.60±2.04), and the operation score in the experimental group was ( 92. 70 ± 2. 90 ) ( t=6. 57, P<0. 01 ) . The total score of nurses′ critical thinking ability in the experimental group was (319.26±3.30), while it in the control group was (298.72±1.39) (t=11.60,P<0.01). In the experimental group, 91.0% of nurses thought that this model was helpful to enhance communication ability and cooperation, while 83.9% of nurses thought that this model was helpful to remember the complex operation process. Conclusions The peer-assisted learning and mind map training model can improve the effects of pre-job operation training of nurses.
