Abstract:
Objective To explore the relationship among narcissism , work engagement and turnover intention in nurses .Methods Data were collected from 348 nurses by self-report questionnaires including the narcissism scale , work engagement scale and turnover intention scale .Results The average scores of work engagement, narcissism and turnover intention in 348 nurses were (43.89±8.46) points, (52.34±10.63) points and (9.88±3.41) points.Correlation analyses indicated that nurses′turnover intention was positively related to narcissism and work engagement (r=0.24,-0.13;P <0.05).The path analysis showed that work engagement completely played an mediating role in the relationship between narcissism and turnover intention . Conclusions Work engagement functions as a bridge among the association between narcissism and turnover intention in nurses .
