After each training phrase, pictures of different kinds of skin tears were provided for the scene test. A unified criteria was used to evaluate and review, with qualified score≥85.Results All of 85 nurses completed the test within 1 h. For the first phase with lecture as teaching method, the passing rate was 5.88%. The second phase with the training method of multimedia combining cases, passing rate was 89.41%(P<0.001). Average grades for first stage was (69.95±10.37)which was lower than the second stage(89.58±9.65)(t=15.475,P<0.001). Nursing age, education, job title and work environment had no statistical significance (P>0.05) on mastering the degree of skin tears. Conclusions Two methods in phases training could help nurses understand and grasp the recognition and nursing knowledge of skin tears.
