Abstract:
Objective To explore the feasibility of Europe health-related quality of life questionnaire-5-Dimension (EQ-5D) applied in assessment of quality of life in patients with intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy ( ICP) and influence of severity of disease on quality of life .Methods A total of 211 patients with ICP were selected as observation groups (128 in the mild group, 83 in the severe group) along with 294 normal pregnant women in control group. We investigated them with EQ-5D.And then, we compared the differences in quality of life between healthy pregnant women and patients with ICP , the differences in quality of life between patients with ICP in the mild group and the severe group along with analyzing the correlation between the serum total bile acid level and the related score of EQ-5D in patients with ICP.Results The total score of EQ-5D was (6.03 ± 1.29) in patients pf observation groups and (5.31 ±0.78) in patients of control group with a significant difference (P<0.01); the total score of EQ-5D was (7.31 ±1.01) in patients with ICP of the severe group and (5.21 ±0.59) in patients with ICP of the mild group with a significant difference (P<0.01).Besides, the serum total bile acid level in patients with ICP had a positive correlation with the total score of EQ -5D (r=0.657, P<0.01) and positive correlation with the scores of visual scale ( r =0.617, P<0.01).Conclusions The quality of life in patients with ICP is declining especially in patients with severe ICP .Moreover , it is feasible in clinic for EQ-5D to assess the quality of life of patients with intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy .
