Abstract:
Objective To explore the influences of the individual cervical hyperextension position on the hemodynamics of vertebral artery in patients with thyroidectomy. Methods According to the random number table,80 participants were divided into the intervention group (n =40)and the control group (n =40).The intervention group used individual cervical hyperextension position while the control group used conventional cervical hyperextension position. The hemodynamics changes of the bilateral vertebral artery for C4 ~5 and the incidence rates for the posture symptom of thyroid surgery were compared between the two groups. Results Both the blood flow rates and volumes of the bilateral vertebral artery were lower in the control group compared with those in the intervention group (P <0.05).The incidence rates for the posture symptom of thyroid surgery were significantly reduced in the intervention group (P <0.01 ).Conclusions The individual cervical hyperextension position can effectively improve the hemodynamics of vertebral artery and reduce the incidence for the posture symptom of thyroid surgery.
