Abstract:
Objective To discuss the effects of solution-focused approach in self-management behavior of young and middle-aged patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)and to explore the effective intervention methods.Methods Selecting 76 cases of young and middle-aged hospitalized patients with COPD as the research object (aged 60 years or less),from January to December,2015,which were divided into experimental group and control group on average,conventional care method were organized in the control group,while the solution-focused approach were conducted in the experimental group.All patients were evaluated by self-care behavior questionnaire,COPD assessment test (CAT)and modified medical research council dyspnea scale (MMRC)before and after the interventions,and the pulmonary function changes were compared before and after the interventions.Results Self-care behavior,CAT scores,MMRC scores and pulmonary function test results of the patients in the experimental group were better than that of the control group (P <0.05);CAT scores,MMRC degrees and pulmonary function were related and associated with self-care behavior score.Conclusions Solution-focused approach can enhance self-management behavior in young and middle-aged patients with COPD,as well as alleviate the symptoms and improve the prognosis and the quality of life.
