Abstract:
Objective To explore the application effects of Orem self-care nursing mode on improving the complications and quality of life in patients with Alzheimer.Methods The study investigated 184 Alzheimer patients who were hospitalized from July 2013 to July 2015.The participants were divided into the control group (n =92)and the intervention group (n =92)using the random number table.The control group received routine nursing care while the intervention group received Orem self-care nursing mode.The incidence of complications,IQ level,the activity of daily living and quality of life were compared between the two groups. Results The intervention group performed significantly higher scores of DQOL,MMSE and ADL assessment as well as a lower incidence rate of complications compared to the control group (P <0.05).Conclusions The Orem self-care nursing mode not only can effectively improve the activity of daily living,IQ level and the quality of life but also can prevent the related complications for patients with Alzheimer.
