Abstract:
Objective To investigate the social relational quality and social avoidance and distress in patients with permanent Cystostomy , and explore the effects of social relational quality on social avoidance and distress. Methods A total of 203 patients with permanent cystostomy were surveyed using the social relational quality scale and the social avoidance and distress scale .The scores of social avoidance and distress were compared among patients with different clinical characteristics , and the hierarchical regression analysis was applied for exploring the effects of social relational quality on social avoidance , distress. Results The total scores of social relational quality and social avoidance and distress in patients with permanent cystostomy were (44.18 ±6.60) and (15.38 ±6.32) respectively.Patients in different genders, ages, marital statuses, occupations, catheterization times and primary diseases had significantly different scores of social avoidance and distress ( P<0.05).The hierarchical regression analysis showed that gender , occupation, time of catheterization, primary disease, family cohesion, family commitment and friendship were independent factors in predicting the social avoidance and distress of patients with permanent cystostomy ( P<0.05 ) .Conclusions The social relational quality of patients with permanent cystostomy is at low level , while the social avoidance and distress is at relatively high level .The social relational quality determines the social avoidance and distress of patients with permanent cystostomy , so improving the social relational quality is promising to avoid the social avoidance and distress of patients with permanent cystostomy .
