Abstract:
Objective To investigate the role of early warning evaluation in managing adverse events for elderly nursing. Methods A total of 396 elderly patients who were treated from Mar to December 2013 without conducting early warning evaluation were selected as control group while a number of 377 elderly patients who were treated from January to September 2014 were selected as observation group. The patients in the observation group had been performed the early warning evaluation and received the different nursing measures. The patients of control group had been given the grading nursing according to the nursing grade subscribed by doctors. The patients of observation group had been evaluated according to the self-made early warning evaluation immediately after admission;different nursing measures were given by the pre-warning degree. Results The incidence rate of adverse events in observation group was (0. 53%, 2/377), which was lower than that of the control group (2.78%, 11/396) (χ2 = 4. 618,P < 0. 05). Conclusions Implementation of early warning evaluation management in elderly patients can lower the incidence rate of nursing adverse events.
