Influencing factors of Alzheimer′s disease knowledge, behavior and attitude in community elderly

Abstract:
Objective To survey the community elderly′s Alzheimer′s disease knowledge, behavior and attitude and provide basis for targeted health education and service. Methods Self-design Alzheimer′s disease knowledge, behavior, cognitive and attitude questionnaire was used to survey 168 community elderly people by the convenience sampling method and the information of survey applied SPSS 17. 0 software for statistical analysis. Results The Alzheimer′s disease knowledge, behavior cognition and attitude scores were (11. 20 ± 4. 39), (5. 83 ± 2. 50), (6. 20 ± 2. 13) in community elderly; education was the main influence factor, and age, gender, marital status, care experiences had impacts on different items (P<0. 05). Conclusions In the different population characteristics of the community elderly, the Alzheimer′s disease knowledge, behavior cognition and attitudes are different, thus we should arrange health education according to different characteristics of the elderly in the community, so as to help them to understand and handle Alzheimer′s disease disease correctly.
