Abstract:
Objective To investigate the effect of auricular points sticking interventions on relieving anxiety and pain caused by PICC catheter under ultrasound-guidance. Methods A total of 60 patients with PICC catheter under ultrasound-guided were divided into control group (30 cases) and observation group (30 cases) according to random number table. The patients in the control group received routine nursing care and the patients in the observation group were added the intervention of auricular points sticking. The scores of patients′anxiety and blood pressure ( BP) and heart rate ( HR) were compared between two groups before PICC catheter, and the score of pain of patients were evaluated during the operation of PICC catheter. Results Before PICC catheter insertion, the anxiety, score in the observation group was (27. 83 ± 4. 40), which was lower than that in the control group (31. 77 ± 4. 84) and the differences was statistically significant (t=3. 293,P<0. 05). The observation group patients′systolic pressure, diastolic pressure and HR were significantly lower than control group ( P < 0. 05 ). During the operation of PICC catheter insertion, pain, score of local anesthetic, venipuncture, pullout needle, blade expanded skin, send vascular sheath and pull vascular sheath in observation group were (3.57 ±1.104),(2.97 ±1.066),(0.87 ±0.973),(1.77 ±0.971),(2.50 ±1.358) and (1. 07 ± 0. 980), which were lower than those in the control group (5. 13 ± 1. 548),(4. 90 ± 1. 296),(1. 87 ± 1. 795), (3. 43 ± 1. 478),(4. 50 ± 1. 635) and (2. 07 ± 1. 461), and the differences were statistically significant (t= -4. 513, -6. 384, -2. 601, -5. 198, -5. 154, -3. 198;P <0. 05). Conclusions The auricular points sticking can effectively alleviate anxiety and stabilize vital signs in patients with PICC, and relieve pain caused by PICC catheter.
