Effect of collaborative family nursing management mode on self-efficacy and quality of life in patients with rheumatoid arthritis

Abstract:
Objective To discuss the effect of collaborative family nursing management mode on self-efficacy and quality of life in patients with rheumatoid arthritis ( RA ) . Methods A total of 88 cases of RA patients from July 2013 to December 2013 in our hospital were selected as the observation group, while 86 cases of RA patients from July 2012 to December 2012 in our hospital were selected as the control group, patients in control group received routine nursing, the observation group accepted the basis of conventional nursing cooperative family nursing management mode. Compared the self-efficacy and quality of life between two groups before and after the intervention by the Chronic disease self-efficacy table ( CDSES) and quality of life scale ( RAQOL) . Results Intervention before and 6 months after intervention had been evaluated, respectively, two groups of patients self-efficacy scores before intervention differences had no statistical significance (P>0. 05). After the intervention, the scores of every self-efficacy dimensions such as complete self-management, general self-efficacy, achieve the results, deal with problems in the observation group were(6. 8 ± 0. 7),(7. 4 ± 0. 9), (7.1 ±0.9) and (7.6 ±1.0), higher than these of the control group [(4.9 ±0.7),(5.2 ±0.9),(5.3 ±0.7), (5. 1 ± 0. 9)], the differences were statistically significant (t=4. 523,3. 965,3. 569,4. 102, respectively;P<0. 01). The self-efficacy of patients after the intervention had improved significantly in both two groups, compared with before. In the observation group, patients in the physiological function, psychological function, social function, healthy self-awareness ability and overall quality of life scores were (19. 9 ± 3. 1),(15. 4 ± 2. 8),(21. 9 ± 3. 2),(23. 1 ± 4. 7),(80. 3 ± 11. 6), higher than (16. 8 ± 2. 5),(13. 1 ± 2. 2),(18. 9 ± 3. 0), (20.2±3.1),(69.0±6.3) in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (t=5.264, 4. 635,4. 265, 4. 145, 3. 958, respectively;P < 0. 01 ). Conclusions The collaborative family nursing management increases the patient′s self-efficacy, enhances the patient self-management level and the ability to adhere health behaviors, and improves the life quality of patients.
