Abstract:
Objective To study the clinical value of Multi-disciplinary Team ( MDT) collaborative care model in cataract surgery patients. Methods A total of 112 cases of cataract patients with surgery from March 2013 to March 2014 in our hospital were divided into control group and experimental group, with 56 cases in each. In the control group, the traditional treatment methods were used, while multidisciplinary teamwork approach was applied to the experimental group. The time of hospital stay, postoperative recovery, postoperative complication, the knowledge of disease and the Symptom Checklist 90 ( SCL-90 ) were compared between the two groups. Results In the experimental group, the length of stay and the postoperative vision were (3. 8 ± 1. 0) days and (0. 55 ± 0. 12), which were significantly better than those of the control group (t =2. 471,2.019, respectively;P <0. 05). The incidence of complication of corneal endothelial injury, glaucoma and amotio retinae were 3(5. 4%), 7(12. 5%) and 4(71. 4%),which were significantly lower than those of the control group (χ2 =17. 638,11. 241,13. 492, respectively;P<0. 05). The knowledge of disease and the score of SCL-90 were significantly improved in the experimental group (P<0. 05). Conclusions MDT collaborative care model can shorten the hospital stay of patients, promote the recovery of visual acuity, increase patients′ control of health knowledge, reduce the incidence of complications, improve patient′s psychological and emotional condition in cataract surgery patients. The care model in the clinical treatment of cataract surgery patients are significantly effective, and worthy of generalizing.
