Abstract:
Objective To explore the effect of Utstein cardiopulmonary resuscitation ( CPR) registry utilized in emergency department. Methods Totals of 167 cases, who suffered cardiac arrest from January 2011 to December 2012, had been retrospectively collected key data for CPR information from historical disease description, medical order and nursing documentation as control group. We designed registry based on Utstein model.Forty eight cases had been gathered key data prospectively from January to September 2013 as experimental group. We compared the deficiency rates of key data, and evaluate the effect of registry application.Clinical staff, who were trained with the standard of CPR registry, collected experimental information on time and consummated the quality of registry data strictly. Results The data deficiency in the experimental group was less than the control group on cardiac arrest time, reason of cardiac arrest, time of start-up CPR, time of first defibrillation and time of end CPR (χ2 =5.92,5.34,203.93,75.16 and 193.71;P <0.05). Conclusions The application of Utstein model reduces the deficiency of CPR key data and settles the foundation of CPR quality control.
