Abstract:
Objective To analysis the cause of the fall in the neoplasms patients with chemoradiotherapy during hospitalization, and explore the corresponding measures.Methods Fourteen neoplasms patients with chemoradiotherapy and fall during hospitalization from March 2011 to November 2013 were chosen, and the cause of fall was analyzed.The prevention evaluation and intervention of fall were formulated according to the cause of the fall.Results Fourteen patients with fall included 6 cases of nasopharyngeal carcinoma, 2 cases of laryngocarcinoma, 3 cases of lung cancer, 1 case of hypopharyngeal cancer, 1 case of esophageal cancer and 1 case of renal cell carcinoma.Seven patients were synchronous chemoradiotherapy.The fall prediction scale forecasted 6 cases (6/14,42.9%).The occurrence of falls was related to the patients’ gender, age, the history of fall, drug, mobility limitation, visual impairment and nursing staff.Conclusions The comprehensive and dynamic evaluation through the application of the fall prediction scale combine with the related factors can increase the safety awareness of nurses and patients, and the eye-catching logo should be set up, and the effective preventive measures should be carried out so as to prevent and reduce the fall.
