Abstract:
Objective To understand the intention , motivation and influencing factors of studying for a master in nursing undergraduate students in order to provide the scientific basis for guiding students to take a correct attitude towards learing in educators .Methods Five hundred and two nursing undergraduate students from Grade 2008 to Grade 2012 were surveyed by the self-designed questionnaire about the intention and motivation for studying for a master in nursing undergraduate students .Results The cases of 502 students who had the intention to take postgraduate entrance examination were 93 cases (18.5%).50.2% students thought that the nursing specialty should develop the postgraduate education , and 54.0% student thought that studying for a master could improve the self-ability.The first factor of making students take postgraduate entrance examination was “break away the clinical nursing work”.Ready to enter oneself for an examination of nursing students accounted for 52.7%, 47.3% of the students to enter oneself for an examination the nursing profession;the better results in all the subjects , the phenomenon of cross major to enter oneself for an examination, the more obvious (P<0.01); Men cross major to enter oneself for an examination phenomenon than women (P<0.01).The main factor of making students not take the postgraduate entrance examination was age, and they were worry about delay marriage and family .Conclusions The proportion of the intention to have postgraduate entrance examination students is relatively small , and the motivation for studying for a master is negative.The educators and related management should pay attention to the problem and guild students to take a correct attitude .
