Application of antidepressant nursing in patients with functional constipation

Abstract:
Objective To investigate the clinical value and significance of antidepressant nursing in patients with functional constipation .Methods From December 2010 to December 2012 , 90 cases of functional constipation were randomly divided into three groups .Patients in group A were given routine nursing care and a small dose of paroxetine;patients in group B were treated with antidepressant; patients in group C were given routine nursing care .Before treatment , and after 1 week and 2 weeks of treatment , the Self Rating Depression Scale ( SDS) , the Self Rating Anxiety Scale ( SAS ) and adverse drug reactions were statistically analyzed . Results The scores of SDS and SAS among the three groups had no significant differences when patients first charged into the hospital (F=0.280, 1.286, respectively; P>0.05 and LSD P>0.05).After 1 week of treatment, the SDS and SAS scores of group A and B were slightly lower than those in group C ( F=1.927, 1.286, respectively;P>0.05 and LSD P>0.05), but there was no significant differences .After 2 weeks of treatment, the SDS and SAS scores of group A and B were significantly lower than those in group C ( F =16.337, 17.733, respectively; P <0.05 and LSD P <0.05 ), indicating the existence of significant differences .Factorial analysis of variance results showed that the changes of SDS and SAS and the differences of antidepressant intervention method-time were different (F=66.744, 12.806, respectively;P<0.01), with an interaction.The incidence of adverse drug effect was significantly higher in group A than that in group B or group C (χ2 =12.857,P<0.01).Conclusions Antidepressant nursing can relieve anxiety and depression symptoms in patients with functional constipation , and can effectively avoid the adverse reaction induced by antidepressants , so it is worthy of the clinical promotion .
