Abstract:
Objective To investigate the occupation protection awareness level among staff in washing centers.Methods Totals of 138 staff in the washing centers were investigated with a retrospective questionnaire , including the general information , the occupation protection awareness , protective supplies , occupation harm and the treatment of sharp instrument injury .Results The number of staff who mastered the methods of hand washing , wearing gloves, wearing masks, changing area clothing was 130 ( 94.20%), 120(86.96%), 108 (78.26%) and 80 (59.97%).The number of staff fully performed wearing masks , using water-proof isolation gown, using rubber shoes and protective glasses was 127 (92.03%), 119 (86.23%), 92(66.67%), 70(50.72%) and 39(28.26%).During work, thirty-eight staff had injection injury;six staff had skin allergy;ten staff had burning injury and two staff had hearing loss .After the injection injury , thirty-five staff (92.11%) washed and sterilized the wound;twenty-six staff (68.42%) squeezed the blood out of the wound; two staff (5.26%) had blood test after the injection injury; only one staff (2.63%) had efficient globulin injection; one staff (2.63%) reported to the superior and three staff (7.89%) had no treatment. Conclusions The occupation protection awareness of staff in the washing centers is low .Not only should we improve the awareness of occupation protection by the occupation training , but we should also take effective protective measures to prevent the occupation exposure .
