Abstract:
Objective To explore effects of therapeutic communication on regulatory emotional selfefficacy in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).Methods Totals of 60 COPD patients were divided into test group (n =30) and control group (n =30) randomly. The control group was given only routine care and general communication. In addition, therapeutic communication was implemented in the test group. The effects were evaluated with the Regulatory Emotional Self-efficacy Scale and the Positive and Negative Affect Scale. Results Compared with the evaluation indicators before intervention in two groups, scores of Regulatory Emotional Self-efficacy,positive emotion and negative emotion in control group respectively were (30.73 ± 5.09),(25.49 ± 6.11) and (32.10 ± 5.44),and that in test group was (30.47 ± 5.46),(25.12 ± 5.46) and (32.62 ± 5.81),the differences were not statistically significant (t =0.191,0.247,0.358,respectively;P > 0.05).After intervention, scores of Regulatory Emotional Self-efficacy [(38.15 ± 6.53) vs (31.47 ±5.45)],positive emotion [(33.01 ±6.26) vs (27.12 ±5.65)] and negative emotion [(27.13 ± 5.92) vs (31.24 ± 5.21)] in test group were significantly better than that in control group (t =4.302,3.826,2.855,respectively; P < 0.05).Condusions Therapeutic communication can effectively improve the RESE and relieve the negative emotions in patients with COPD.
