Abstract:
Objective To deeply understand the real experience and feeling of nurses in the evaluation of cultural background in the patients with religions belief through the application of sunrise model , and to understand the feasibility and difficulties in the assessment of culture in order to lay the foundation for further provide multicultural nursing training .Methods Thirteen nurses received the semi-structured interview which was from the phenomenological methods of qualitative research , and the data were analyzed by Colaizzi ’ s analysis.Results The interview data were read , coded, analyzed, reflected, classified, theme refining and verification, and four main concepts from the feeling of evaluator were summarized including the roles of the culture assessment , the skills of the culture assessment , the difficulties of culture assessment and the considerations of the culture assessment .Conclusions Application of sunrise model in cultural background assessment in patients is very necessary and feasible .The study reveals that the training of multicultural nursing theory, values, religious knowledge and multilingual language should be strengthened , and the ways of training including scene simulation and role-playing should be adopted .
