Effect of 7S on-site management to reduce the incidence of hidden dangers of clinical nursing

Abstract:
Objective To discuss the effect of 7S on-site management to reduce the incidence of hidden dangers of clinical nursing .Methods Sixty nine cases of hidden nursing dangers reported on our hospital intellectualization nursing management system from June to December 2012 were collected .High risk factors of hidden dangers were listed according to the feedback analysis .7S theory was introduced since January 2013 to establish standardized management mode , QCC method was adopted for continuous quality improvement , and hidden nursing dangers from January to June 2013 were collected .Changes of nurses'emergency ability and nursing safety related quality indicators were compared before and after the implementation of 7S on-site management.Results The incidence of hidden nursing dangers was 0.64%before 7S on-site management, and 0.34%after, with statistically significant difference (χ2 =10.78,P<0.05).The pass percentage of emergency assessment, environmental safety and ward management , technical operation, nursing medical record writing quality and patient satisfaction was respectively 97.6%, 96.4%, 98.6%, 98.1%, 96.3% after 7S on-site management, all higher than 89.5%, 90.1%, 91.3%, 93.4%, 92.7% before, and the differences were statistically significant (χ2 =28.69, 32.11, 36.36, 38.84, 37.07, respectively;P<0.01).Conclusions The introduction of 7S on-site management into nursing safety can simplify its process , shorten service radius, improve nurses'emergency ability and nursing quality , and reduce the incidence of hidden dangers .
