Abstract:
Objective To explore the effect of high quality nursing on the operation of patients with skull base tumors.Methods Seventy-two patients who received the treatment for the operation of skull base tumor from May 2010 to December 2012 were randomly divided into the study group and the control group,each with 36 cases.The control group received the traditional nursing,and the study group received high quality nursing.The patients got responsibility and holistic nursing in whole course through visit and nursing evaluation before operation,cooperation during operation and follow-up after operation.The effects were compared between two groups.Results The incidence rate of skin pressure ulcer,exposure keratitis,nerve injury,infection and cerebrospinal fluid leak were respectively 16.7％,19.4％,16.7％,22.2％,16.7％ in the control group,and 0.0％,0.0％,0.0％,2.8％,0.0％ respectively in the study group respectively,and the differences were statistically significant (P ＜ 0.05).The cure and mortality rates were respectively 52.8％,16.7％ in the control group,and 88.9％,0.0％ in the study group,and the differences were statistically significant (P ＜0.05).The average hospitalization days were (15.17 ±0.35) d in the control group,and (11.22 ±0.42)d in the study group; the average medical expenses were (12250.05 ± 73.42) yuan in the control group,and (8141.67 ±30.35) yuan in the study group,and the differences were statistically significant (t =25.901,53.176,respectively;P ＜ 0.01).Conclusions Application of high quality nursing in the operation of patients with skull base tumors can reduce the complication,and improve the rehabilitation of patients.
