Abstract:
Objective To investigate the cognitive demand for chronic prostatitis of soldiers and provide evidence for carrying out efficient health education.Methods Seven hundreds seventy-five military soldiers were surveyed by the chronic prostatitis symptom index (CPSI) list and self-made questionnaire on the cognitive demand for chronic prostatitis.Results The total score of the cognitive demand was (63.28 ± 7.24),and the top five aspects were respectively disease prevention,diagnosis and treatment of regular hospital specialists,etiology,causes of recurrent and refractory and the psychological support from doctor.The survey of CPSI in 775 soldiers showed that there were 180 patients with clinical symptoms,and the total score of the cognitive demand was (70.28 ± 6.46) ; the survey of quality of life displayed that there were 74 patients with general feeling,56 patients with unpleasant,39 patients with unhappy and 11 patients with very fear.Conclusions The soldiers have high cognition demand for chronic prostatitis.We should pay attention to the demands,provide better the nursing prevention for soldiers with severe symptom,and make good health education so as to help the soldiers build health life style and reduce the morbidity of chronic prostatitis.
