Abstract:
Colorectal cancer is one of the most common malignancies, with a high incidence rate. Surgical treatment, as the primary approach, has consistently garnered significant attention from surgeons. In recent years, continuous advancements in diagnostic technologies and treatment concepts have led to remarkable progress in minimally invasive therapies for colorectal cancer. From the trauma associated with open surgeries and early bowel resections to the introduction of radical tumor resection concepts, minimally invasive surgical techniques have continuously evolved. With the rise of robotic surgery and advancements in artificial intelligence in the 21st century, functional surgery has gained increasing importance. The combination of enhanced recovery principles with minimally invasive surgery has significantly improved survival outcomes and the quality of life for cancer patients. This article reviews recent advances in minimally invasive treatment concepts for colorectal cancer, drawing on past experiences, and aims to promote further progress in colorectal surgery.
