Abstract:
Objective To explore the body position intervention on the sleep quality of patients undergoing video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS).Methods Totals of 148 patients were randomly divided into control group (n =75) and observation group (n =73),control group received the routine nursing, while observation group received special body position intervention nursing. Then, sleep quality of two groups in one week before the surgery and three days after the surgery were compared. Results No significant difference was found in the score of sleep quality of VATS patients between two groups before one week of thoracic surgery (t =0.8623,P>0.05).Three days after the thoracic surgery, the score of sleep quality of observation group was statistically higher than that of control group [(9.82 ± 2.81) vs (13.29 ± 3.32),t =6.8 591,P < 0.05)].Conclusions Body postural intervention can promote to improve sleep quality of VATS patients after thoracic surgery, also promote the recovery of the patients, and improve nursing quality.
