Abstract:
In recent years, with the advancement of techniques and concepts in pancreatic surgery, the perioperative mortality rate of pancreaticoduodenectomy (PD) has been significantly reduced, but the incidence of postoperative complications is still at a high level. Delayed gastric emptying (DGE) is one of the most common complications after PD, which is usually not life-threatening but leads to prolonged hospitalization, increased hospitalization costs, and has a serious impact on the quality of life and prognosis of patients. The etiology of DGE is complex, the mechanism is unknown, and there is no uniform treatment model and method. Therefore, this article provides a review of the current studies related to DGE after PD, and synthesizes the new advances in risk factors and treatment, with the aim of providing references for the clinical treatment and research of this disease.
