Abstract:
Objective To investigate depression symptoms of nurses in military hospital, and discuss its relationship between social support,so as to provide reference for nurses' mental health. Methods Basic information scale,seif-rating depression scale (SDS),social support rating scale (SSRS) were used to investigate 502 nurses in Beijing military hospital who had been working for more than one year. Results Totals of 502 questionnaires were handed out and 449 were recovered, with the rate of 89.4%.The total score of SDS and SSRS was (53.51 ± 6.19) and (36.70 ± 6.90),while Chinese norm was (33.46 ± 8.55) and (34.56 ± 3.73),and the difference was statistically significant (t =68.638,6.578,respectively; P < 0.01).Correlativity analysis of SDS,SSRS and each dimension showed that, depression was negatively related to social support(P < 0.01).Conclusions Military nurses' depression is not optimistic, which deserves more attention from society and hospital administrators.Practical social support is needed to improve their psychological health.
