Abstract: Objective To investigate the effect of quality control circle(QCC) activities in reducing the unqualified rate of urine culture specimen in urology ward.Methods Totals of 268 patients provided urine culture from March 2011 to May 2011 were as the control group,while 490 patients provided urine culture from June 2011to October 2011 were as the QCC management group.Results After the implementation of quality control circle,the rate of master accurate urine culture specimen return increased from 85.4％ to 96.3％,and the difference was statistically significant (x2 =29.483,P =0.000);the unqualified rate of specimens reduced from 24.3％ to 14.5 ％,and the difference was statistically significant (x2 =11.218,P =0.001).Conclusions QCC activities can significantly decrease the unqualified rate of specimens,improve the quality of care,and increase the ability of staff to solve problems.
