Abstract:
Objective To study the effect of continuous nursing on the quality of life in breast cancer patients after surgery. Methods Totals of 60 cases of breast cancer patients were randomly divided into two groups, the experimental group (30 cases) and the control group (30 cases).Patients of each group received the same nursing care during hospitalization, and the experimental group accepted the continuous nursing after discharge while the control group only received routine education.WHOQOL-BREE was used to compare the quality of life of two groups a year after discharge. Results There was no statistically significant difference of WHOQOL-BREE score between two groups before discharge (P > 0.05).A year after discharge, however, the score of life quality, health condition, physiology, psychology and social function was respectively (3.70 ±0.75),(3.77 ± 0.68),(10.17 ± 0.91),(17.43 ± 1.25),(11.20 ± 1.38) in the experimental group, and (2.80±0.55),(2.73 ±0.74),(8.43 ±1.04),(13.53 ±1.57),(9.43 ±1.30) in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (t =5.299,5.637,6.861,10.642,5.106,respectively; P < 0.01).Conclusions Continuous nursing can help promote patients' recovery of the side limbs function after surgery and help them build better social support, thus is important in improving breast cancer patients' quality of life after surgery.
