Qualitative research on oncology nurses' working experience and occupational stability

Abstract: Objective To discuss oncology nurses' true feelings and working experience,so as to investigate the influencing factors of their occupational stability and clinical nursing quality.Methods Qualitative research methods were adopted and semi-structured open-ended questionnaire was used to conduct individual in-depth interviews with 16 oncology nurses from Level 3 of 1st class hospital,and analysis methods of qualitative contents were used for data analysis.Results Reasons for not wanting leave Oncology Department included:working environment,familiarity with the working process,good protective measures,harmonic colleague relationship,not wanting children for now and worries about not adapting to the new department.The influencing factors of oncology nurses' occupational stability included:drug damage,working environment,hard work,bad colleague relationship,no special treatment and so on.Conclusions Corresponding measures should be taken according to the influencing factors of nurses' instability,so that nurses can work for the patients without concerns.
