Abstract:
Objective To investigate the efficacy and safety of early rehabilitation programme in elderly patients after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).Methods A total of 96 elderly patients treated by PCI were randomly divided into rehabilitation group and control group. In rehabilitation group, the patients received the early cardiac rehabilitation programs, while the control group received the traditional rehabilitation therapy. The echocardiography and complications of two groups were observed and compared. Results During hospitalization, the left ventricular end diastolic diameter, left ventricular end systolic diameter, left ventricular posterior wall thickness and left ventricular ejection fraction in the two groups were no significant difference (P > 0.05).While the complications incidence of rehabilitation group such as irritability (8.33% vs 27.08%),insomnia (14.58% vs 39.58%),abdominal distension (6.25% vs 33.33%),low back pain(4.17% vs 29.17%),point-pricking bleeding (2.08% vs 16.67%) were significantly lower than that in the control group (x2 = 5.790,7.596,11.090,10.800,6.008,respectively;P <0.05).Conclusions Early postoperative cardiac rehabilitation program in elderly patients with PCI is safe and helpful, which can significantly reduce the incidence of complications.
