Abstract:
Objective To explore the effect of comprehensive healthy educational mode on the improving hypertensive patients' safety awareness of using thiazide diuretics. Methods Totals of 232 patients with hypertension were randomly divided into control group (n =123 ) and experiment goup (n =109 ) by odd even number of admission. All patients taken indapamide 2.5 mg/d and received the routine hypertensive nursing, while experiment group received the comprehensive healthy educational mode included extra health education, daily health, surroundings environment, mental health education, master of nutrition and dietetics, especially on safety using thiazide diuretics.Biochemical indexes and incidence of adverse events were observed before and after intervention six months. Results After intervention six months, among control group, the blood pressure [(129.63 ±10.06) vs (140.17 ±11.67)mm Hg,(77.71 ±7.01) vs (87.12 ±9.08)mm Hg)],serum uric acid [ (425.21 ±61.77) vs (331.37 ±71.26)umoi/L] and potassium [ (3.73 ±0.28) vs (4.23 ±0.41) mmol/L] were significantly different than that of before intervention (t =2.83,3.17,3.84,3.12,respectively; P< 0.05 ),and no significant difference was found in others indexes (P > 0.05 ).Among experiment group, after intervention six months, systolic blood pressure [ ( 130.42 ± 10.14) vs ( 142.46 ±12.77)mm Hg]and diastolic blood pressure [ (78.43 ±8.14) vs (88.21±9.04)mm Hg] compared with that before intervention, and the difference was statistically significant ( t =3.21,2.91,respectively; P < 0.05 ),and no significant difference was found in others indexes ( P > 0.05 ).There were 13 cases ( 10.57% ) had hypokalemia in control group and that of one case ( 0.9% ) in experiment goup, and the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05 ).Conclusions Comprehensive healthy education can effectively improve the awareness of safety using thiazide diuretics and self management of patients and reduce the incidence of side effects, which has much practical value in clinic application.
