Abstract:
Objective To design and assess the emergency priority system to release the retard conditions of emergency patients.Methods Of 23 088 emergency patients,the average number of patients 'admission within 24 hours per month,the average time of patients' detention before admission and the average number of rescuing patients per month by the emergency record from March of 2009 to March of 2010 ( before the application of the emergency priority system) and from April of 2010 to April of 2011 (after the application of the emergency priority system ) were recorded and compared.Results The average number of patients'admission from emergency department within 24 hours per month increased by 20.7％,the average time of patients' detention in emergency department before admission decreased by 33.2％ and the average number of rescuing patients in the emergency department per month increased by 14.1％ by the application of the emergency priority system.Conclusions The emergency priority system can solve the problem of the detention of the emergency patients,and eliminate the hidden dangers because of the emergency patients detention.
