Effect of different disinfectants on the surface of dental facilities

Abstract:
Objective To compare the effect of Potassium peroxymonosulfate and disinfectant containing chlorinedisinfecting on the dental facilities surface.Methods The table of random number was used and twenty-four spittoons of dentistry cures chairs were divided into experimental group and control group.The Potassium peroxymonosulfate (RelyOnTM Virkon disinfectant ) was used to disinfect the spittcons in the experimental and the disinfectant containing ( chlorine “84” disinfectant ) was used in the control group.The samples were collected at 10 minutes before and after disinfection respectively,and the the ratio of disinfection were observed.Results The mean ratio of disinfection of Virkon and “84” disinfectant was more than 98％,there were no statisticant differences between two groups( Z=- 0.347,P ＞ 0.05 ).Conclusions The effects of disinfection are similar between Virkon and “84”disinfectant,and Virkon disinfectant is conveniently used in the crowded dental out-patient department for its better security,usability and environment protection.
