Abstract:
Objective To explore the effects of the trans-theoretical model (TTM) on the behaviors of self-monitoring blood glucose in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Methods Sixty patients with type 2diabetes were randomly divided into control group which received routine health education of blood glucose monitoring and intervention group which received the intervention based on trans-theoretical model. After six months, behaviors changes of self-blood glucose monitoring in two groups were compared. Results One month later,no difference was found in two groups about the score of self-blood glucose monitoring behaviors(P >0.05).The score of intervention group in second month and sixth months was ( 17.89 ± 2.67 ) and ( 23.76 ± 3.74 )respectively, higher than control group that was ( 15.27 ± 2.35 ) and ( 12.36 ± 2.03 ),the difference was statistically significant(t=4.792,8.863,respectively;P <0.01).There was significantly difference in two groups about the score of self-monitoring blood glucose behaviors in third, fourth and fifth month ( P < 0.01 ).The difference between two groups in the behaviors of self-monitoring blood glucose was statistically significant( F=67.031,26.573,respectively; P<0.01).Before intervention, two groups in lipid metabolism index was no difference(P > 0.05 ) ; while after intervention,FBG,P2hBG of intervention group was ( 5.83 ± 1.45 ),(10.29 ±4.42)mmol/L,lower than control group that was(7.63 ±1.64 ),( 12.95 ±4.78)mmol/L respectively, the difference was statistically significant (t=1.972,2.036,respeetively;P <0.05),and the difference about others index of lipid metabolism in two groups was statistically significant ( P < 0.05 ).Conclusions The application of trans-theoretical model can promote to form self-monitoring blood glucose behaviors in patients with 2 type diabetes mellitus and those behaviors can improve the index of blood and fattiness metabolize in patients with type 2 diabetes.
