Abstract:
Objective To observe the effects of two devices for continuous bladder irrigation after transurethral resection of prostate. Methods Ninety patients suffered from transurethral resection of prostate were randomly divided into experimental group and control group, with 45 patients in each group. The patients in the experimental group were nursed by improved continuous bladder irrigation device, while the patients in the control group were nursed by conventional device. Bladder spasm pain, abdominal pain, urgent micturition, heavy feeling in the anus, the recovery time of bowel movement, the time of irrigation, the time of clear rinse solution, urinary red cell count after 48 h,and urine bacterial count before 1 d and after 72 h were observed in the two groups. Results Urgent micturition in 12 cases, bladder spasm pain in 6 cases, abdominal pain in 14 cases, and heavy feeling in the anus in 15 cases in the experimental group and urgent micturition in 40 cases, bladder spasm pain in 28 cases, abdominal pain in 36 cases, and heavy feeling in the anus in 29 cases in the control group, with statistically significant difference( x2 =35.709,22.878,21.780,8.715,respectively; P < 0.01 ).There were no significant difference in the recovery time of bowel movement, the time of irrigation, the time of clear rinse solution, urinary red cell count after 48 h,and urine bacterial count before 1 d and after 72 h ( P > 0.05 ).Conclusions The improved continuous bladder irrigation device is superior to the traditional equipment.
