Abstract: Objective To explore the effect of health education prescription in gastroenterology inpatients. Methods For test group, 568 gastroenterology inpatients in our hospital from Feb 1 to Jun 31 2010 were treated with traditional health education with self-designed health education prescription, for control group,580 gastroenterology inpatients in our hospital from Sep 1st 2009 to Jan 31st 2010 were treated with traditional health education. Results The knowledge level of medication in test group was 92.1％, dietary requirements awareness was 98.8％, and rest and activity awareness was 97.4％. They were higher than the control group ( 82.41％ ,87.24％ and 90.34％, respectively) ( X2 =4.20,10. 28,4.27 ; P ＜ 0. 05 ). Satisfaction of patients in test group are better than control group ( X2 =4.04, P ＜ 0. 05 ). Conclusions The application of the health education prescriptions can increase the knowledge of health education about the disease suffered from, and improve the efficiency of nurse and patient satisfaction, which is worthy of clinical promotion.
