Abstract:
Objective To explore the effect of nursing intervention on fistula maturation time and complications of patients with autogenous arteriovenous fistula. Methods 124 patients diagnosed with autogenous arteriovenous fistula at Hemodialysis Center of our hospital between July 2009 and June 2010, were enrolled in this study. They were randomly divided into two groups with random number tables, control group (n = 62) and experimental group (n = 62). The control group received routine nursing, while the experimental group, besides the routine nursing, received nursing intervention. Fistula maturation time and its related complications were compared. Results Fistula maturation time in the experimental group was longer than that in the control group, while the related complications was less than those in the control group, and there were statistical differences between both groups with respect to maturation time and complications (P < 0. 05).Conclusions Nursing intervention could effectively shorten fistula maturation time and reduce related complications of patients with autogenous arteriovenous fistula.
