Abstract: Objective To investigate the relationship between psychological status and individual personality of the young and middle-aged patients with coronary heart disease (CHD). Methods 120 inpatients with CHD were investigated by means of Self-rating Anxiety Scale(SAS), Self-rating Depression Scale (SDS)and Eysenck Personality Questionnaire (EPQ). Results Of all subjects, 67% were indentified as anxiety,62% as depression. EPQN and EPQP were positively associated with anxiety (P＜0. 01 and P＜0. 05). EPQN were positively associated with depression (P ＜0. 01). EPQE were negatively associated with depression (P ＜0. 01). Conclusions Anxiety and depression play an important role in the pathogenesis of the young and middle-aged patients with CHD, which is associated with individual personality.
