Effect of excellence nursing service of the operating room on postpartum depression level of primiparas undergone caesarean section

Abstract:
Objective To explore the effect of excellence nursing service of the operating room on postpartum depression level of primiparas undergone caesarean section.Methods 300 primiparas undergone caesarean sections were enrolled and randomly divided into two groups: the excellence service group and the control group, with 150 cases in each. The control group received traditional nursing service in perioperation period. The excellence service group received excellence nursing service protocols refer to the principle of excellence nursing service in department of anesthesiology. The protocols were modified in accordance with the present status of the hospital. Both groups were evaluated with Hamilton Depression Scale (HAMD) and Edinburgh Postpartum Depression Scale (EPDS) before and after surgical delivery.Results Before the surgical, the HAMD scores were (12.6±4.1) for the control group and (13.1±3.5) for the excellence service group, there was no difference between the two groups (P>0.05). However, after the surgical delivery, the excellence service group had significant higher EPDS scores than the control group (9.2±2.1, 10.5±3.2). The excellence service group had higher satisfactory scores than the control group (P<0.05).Conclusions The excellence nursing service of the operating room could improve the patient satisfactory, decrease postpartum depression and may play a certain role in postpartum depression prevention.
