Abstract: Objective To compare the parallel axipetal centesis with traditional centisis in hemodialysis efficiency, and discuss the practicability and effectiveness.Methods 30 patients with maintenance hemodialysis were involved. Parallel axipetal centesis and traditional centesis were applied by means of self control and hemodialysis efficiency was compared.Results Effective blood flow could be achieved with both centesis methods. There was no significant difference of the rate of descend in blood urea, creatine, uric acid and phosphorus and Kt/V between the two groups(P>.05).Conclusions Parallel axipetal centesis has numerous advantages compared to traditional centesis, and the hemodialysis efficiency remains high. Thus the parallel axipetal centesis is an ideal new-style centesis for hemodialysis.
